My altered frame for the August Lindy's Gang Color Challenge!

This month for the Lindy's Gang Color Challenge I put together this picture frame specifically to hold a picture of my mom when she was around two years old, standing waist deep in the ocean! (But I blurred her out because her swimsuit didn't fit quite "perfect," and in today's time...*shrug*)

This Place

This months challenge over at the More Than Words blog was "Happiness & Sketch." I love the sketch provided, but it took me a bit to figure out exactly what to do, and even then it was an accident! I was just playing with some old photos and new filters on my computer when I just happened to apply the on seen to this old photo I have from a family trip to the beach! The two children in the foreground are my mom and [one of] my uncles! Anyhow, as soon as that filter was applied everything just clicked (mostly) in my head!

With the sketch I, basically, did a "mirror down" lift of it, and as for happiness, who wouldn't love going to the beach?!?! Actually, I'm not much of a beach person, but I think that's because I'd prefer the beach if the word "private" preceded it!! LOL (My mom on the other hand, L-O-V-E-S the beach, so I'm sure she loved this day and was happy to play in the ocean!)

(As a side note, when everything clicked when the filter was applied to the photo that made me happy, but I don't know if that counts for the challenge!! ROFL)

Altered Embroidery Hoop

An altered embroidery hoop I created for Linda B. for the August ReneaBoquets Swap! Since Linda and I agreed on an "anything goes" theme, I used the Creative Embellishments August mood board challenge as inspiration. Specifically the Silver & Purple ombré hair. I had planned on trying a green & purple idea, as you'll see at the beginning of the video, but that didn't work out very well, so I assumed it was because the ombré hair was haunting my thoughts!

Beach Wall Plaque

ReneaBouquets and Crafty City are having a collaboration this month (Aug. 2019) called Paradise In August! ReneaBouquets has two "Treasure Boxes" to choose from (Treasure Box #1, Treasure Box #2) that work wonderfully with the Mintay "Paradise" Collection available at Crafty City!

For this project I used items from Treasure Box #1, and I have more than enough to do, at least, two more projects. (For the ideas I have swimming about anyhow!)

Fairy Mirror

A little decorative mirror I put together for the July 2019 Mixed Media Place Challenge.

For this project I was inspired by the colors found on the July, Mixed Media Place, mood board, most specifically the yellows, reds, and seafoam green. Especially since the green on the ReneaBouquets Fairy "Belle" was a fantastic match!
